My Skincare Tips For Airplane Travel
I'm not sure about the rest of you, but my skin does not like the effects of travel. Though, I would have to say it is totally worth it for fabulous getaways. But whether you are heading to an island escape or a business meeting, there are ways to keep your skin looking and feeling great through all of the travel stress. Oh, also, these tips totally apply to long road trips as well! You would be surprised how much your skin goes through with varying climates/long-term AC or heater exposure, etc. I like to thing of these tips as "travel friendly" across the board, not just for airplanes! Are you ready for it?
Happy Travels & Happy Skin
Start The Night Before - I love intensive night moisturizers just about every night, but it is extra important the day before travel. Wash that beautiful skin of yours twice and apply generously to get it nice and moisturized before your trip. I am a huge advocate of La Bella Donna's Co-Exist Gel Cream. I also love Image Skincare's Ormedic Balancing BioPeptide Creme.
Allow Your Skin To Breathe - If you have the capacity for it, try to ditch your foundation and concealer until after your flight. Instead wear only your moisturizer, and apply your beloved makeup after landing. If you aren't feeling quite confident enough to go bare, try a tinted moisturizer such as Image Skincare's Prevention+ Tinted Moisturizer SPF30, which I happen to absolutely adore!
Blotting Tissue Is Your Best Friend - I don't know what it is about travel but it seems to dry out my skin while simultaneously creating excess oil. Which is basically a lose-lose situation. SO, I always travel with my trusted Eminence Organics Green Tea & Hemp Blotting Tissue to keep my skin looking beautiful and shine free without further drying it out.
For Lipstick Lovers - Most of my readers know that my two makeup essentials are mascara and lip color. For those of you who have a handy-dandy 24 hour lipstick, I say hold off until landing. I like to stick with my favorite nourishing lipsticks such as Youngblood, La Bella Donna, and Emani
Say Bye Bye To Puffy Eyes - Something I have always noticed and disliked is the fact that my eyes seem to get puffy and tired-looking during travel. I mean, yes, travel is exhausting, but I would still like my eyes to look bright and beautiful. So, if you struggle with this travel travesty as well, try one of my favorite quick-picks! I love iLike Organic's Age Defense Bioflavanoid Eye Cream, Youngblood's Eye Impact Quick Recovery Eye Cream, Rhonda Allison's Eye Revitalizer, and Kinerase's Extreme Eye Lift. The best part? All of these come in TSA friendly sizes for carry on!
Leave Your Face Alone - I always advise people to keep their hands off of their face as much as humanely possible. But this rule goes into triple effect when traveling. Touching your face just adds unnecessary dirt, oil, and germs to your skin. All of which are totally unappealing. If you must touch your face wash your hands first!
Embrace Hand Creams - Your face isn't the only culprit of travel stress. I love using hand creams in my every day life, but I make sure I have a TSA friendly size with me always when traveling. My hands get dried out during the flight, and with all the hand washing I do, leaving my hand cream at home is a big no-no. Your hands can be a dead-giveaway of your age
Wear a Chic Bun - Yup, much like your hands, your hair is vulnerable to travel. I always find mine to be dried out and staticy at the end of the day. So, what do I do? I simply go with a chic bun to keep it nice and tidy throughout my travels. I also like to use my DermOrganic Argan Oil Leave-In Treatment to add moisture, protection, and shine through travel.
