How to Fake a Good Night's Sleep
If there is one thing that can mess up a good confidence day, it is a poor nights sleep. From puffy eyes, to dark circles, and all-around dullness, enduring a restless night can leave you looking less-than-your-best the next day, which is why I want to share some of my favorite skin-revitalizing products with you! Are you ready for it?
Say Good Night to Tired Skin
For Your Eyes: I am a firm believer in eye creams, and believe that everyone should be using one everyday. With that said, not all eye creams are created equal, and when it comes to a bad nights rest, you need to pull out the heavy hitters. I like products that deliver immediate results, such as: Youngblood’s Eye Impact Quick Recovery, Kinerase’s Extreme Lift Eye, and Bliss’ Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Eye Mask. These three products go to work fast to alleviate puffiness, fine lines, wrinkles, and dark circles, allowing you to tackle your day with bright-eyed confidence.
- Pro Tip: combine your favorite eye cream/serum with Clarisonic’s Opal Sonic Infusion System for results that parallel Botox, without the doctors visit or price tag. You can view my video on the Opal Sonic Infusion System Here.
Try To Mask It: Masks are a great way to slough away dead skin to reveal a fresher, more radiant appearance. I am a huge fan of: 100% Pure Brightening Scrub & Mask, June Jacobs Radiant Refining Brightening Masque, and iSClinical CoolMint Revitalizing Masque. These three products all work in different ways to reinvigorate and refresh the skin, meaning you can pick whichever one appeals the most to your skin type and needs to enjoy beautiful, refreshed skin.
Tone for Tone: Not all toners work wonders for awakening the skin, but there are some that work wonders when used everyday, and are especially helpful on days where you need a pick-me-up. One of my favorites is: HydroPeptide’s Pre-Treatment Toner, which allows your skin to glow vibrantly by treating wrinkles. Preventing collagen loss, reducing pore size, and fading age spots. This toner in particular leaves the skin feel extra clean, healthy, hydrated, and radiant, which is exactly what I need on days that follow a restless night.
Utilize Serums & Moisturizers: Just like toners and eye creams, certain products can work wonders on a tired complexion. I’d like to talk about three of my favorite products individually. First, iS Clinical’s Active Serum is wonderful for refreshing and rejuvenating the skin, leaving it smoothed and youthful. This product is wonderful for everyday use, but is especially helpful on days where your skin needs that vital pick-me-up. Another amazing product is Osmosis’ Catalyis. This product works on multiple levels to improve the health and appearance of the skin, providing anti-aging benefits while reducing pigmentation uses to reveal an even, smooth, and youthful complexion. Much like the Active Serum, Catalyst helps to stimulate repair in the skin, meaning you can get back to your bright, beautiful, rested skin faster. Lastly, I am a huge fan of Image Skincare’s Iluma Intense Brightening Crème. While this product is not necessarily an “instant fix”, it feels amazing and always makes my skin look better when I haven’t exactly gotten my full 8 hours. This product can bring my skin back to total life in just a few uses, is incredibly luxurious, and delivers brightening results that have surpassed my expectations.
When All Else Fails, Try Makeup With Benefits: If you are going to cover up your sleepless night with makeup, make sure you reach for healthy product picks. Some of my staples include:
- Blinc Mascara Amplified: Mascara is a must on days where I am tired. It opens up the eye area and makes me appear more awake.
-
Youngblood Pressed Mineral Foundation: I don’t wear pressed powders on a daily basis, but when I do it is either for (a) a special occasion, or (b) on days where my skin looks tired
. This foundation absorbs excess oils, is lightweight and smooth, and helps to even out my complexion without being cakey or heavy. - Glo Minerals Conceal Under Eye: this product is wonderful because it covers dark circles and other imperfections while nourishing the skin with a revitalizing blend of nutrients! This means your skin will heal while you conceal.
-
Glo Minerals Highlighter: if you’d like a more subtle, natural looking glow
, reach for this product. It contains Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and Green Tea Extract to smooth the skin, protect from free radical damage, shower the skin with moisture, and boost skin elasticity. This can also be worn under your foundation for a subtle boost and more prominent foundation finish. -
La Bella Donna Baci Baci Moisturizing Lip Sheer: you’d be surprised at what a hint of color can do for your complexion, and of course a surge of moisture is always nice as well. I always have this lip sheer on hand
, but am especially thankful for it on days where I feel I need a boost.
