Post-Vacation Skin Care Essentials
I absolutely love going on vacation! But if there is one thing that tends to happen each and every time, it's a shift in my normal skin condition. Today I want to talk about my favorite Post-Vacation skin care essentials for rebooting your skin and getting it back to it's beautiful, natural self. Are you ready for it?
Hit Reboot: Post-Vacation
Buff Your Problems Away - Okay, so I am a huge advocate of buffing your skin on the regular, but it is especially important post-vacation to take this step seriously. I use my Clarisonic to get the job done, as it cleanses 6x better than using a washcloth, and really helps to cleanse and exfoliate my skin. You can also use a dry brush for this, but for optimal results, choose Clarisonic! You can even have one for your household and purchase separate brush heads for each user, making it an incredible investment for multiple users!
Enjoy a Bath - I will be the first to admit that I am guilty of neglecting baths. As a business owner and mom I am often on-the-move, and I am sure many of you can relate. However, taking a bath after returning from travel can be incredibly nourishing and detoxifying for your skin. I like to combine 1 cup of Epsom salt with a few drops of lavender essential oil for an experience that is detoxifying, relaxing, and nourishing. If you haven't taken an Epsom salt bath before, make sure to read up on it or consult a physician before trying it out!
Indulge in Exfoliation - This is yet another skin I push year-round, but even more so after vacation time. Oftentimes people with either (a) simplify their beauty routine when they are traveling or (b) will experience a change in their skin condition because of the climate change. Exfoliating away the dead skin accumulated during your travels will allow your skin to breath anew, and will help to promote cellular turnover for beautiful, healthy, radiant skin. One of my absolute favorite exfoliants is Epicuren's Pumpkin Apple Spice Peel, which is beloved by many of Hollywood's hottest including the fabulous Kim Cattrall.
Moisturize to Perfection - I cannot stress this enough: moisturizing is essential. It doesn't matter what skin type you have, there is a moisturizer out there for you, and I want to help you find it! I always recommend applying your moisturizer after cleansing or exfoliating for better product penetration. A good moisturizer should assist in repairing any tissue that was damaged during your vacation
